Structure of the University System

Years of study required to earn a bachelor's degree: Bachelor’s degree programs in the arts and sciences and commerce are generally three-year programs. Students in technological fields may work toward a Bachelor of
Technology, a four-year degree program. Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts, Science, or Commerce, students wishing to pursue postgraduate study will need to complete an additional year and obtain a bachelor’s degree with an honours designation. The additional year almost always focuses solely on upper-division study in one specialized subject (e.g., finance, history, psychology).
