Study abroad advisors of all experience levels, including those new to one or both of the programs, are encouraged to attend.
The Gilman and CLS programs are programs of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and supported in their implementation by IIE and American Councils for International Education, respectively.
Workshop content will include the following:
- Gilman and CLS Program Overviews
- Promotion, Recruitment, and Support of Gilman and CLS Program Candidates
- Advisor Roles and Opportunities in Gilman and CLS
- Maximizing the Gilman and CLS Value: Supporting and Leveraging Alumni
We would like to ensure that everyone who is interested in this event is able to participate. For that reason, limited financial support is available up to $400 to help offset the cost of participation for those coming from over a two-hour drive away. If you need financial support, in addition to that provided by your home institution, in the form of travel (mileage or tickets), lodging, and meals, a limited level of travel support will be available on an as-needed and rolling basis—we encourage you to submit your registration as soon as possible to ensure the availability of funds. Please note that if you have attended a previous Gilman-CLS Advisor Workshop and received travel support, you may not be eligible for a second round of travel funds.
We invite you to register for one of the workshop at the following link: https://www.iiefeedback.org/se/6125022505085D49.
The deadline for registration is Friday, July 26, 2019. We hope to accommodate everyone who is interested in participating in these events. However, because there is limited capacity and we would like to ensure equitable representation of different institutions, registration will be considered on a rolling basis. Additional attendees will be accepted as space allows. Registrants will receive an email once registration is confirmed.
Please direct any questions you have regarding the Advisor Workshop or assistance with technical support to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We thank you for your continued support of our programs and for championing international education on your campus.
