Education System Overview
In the 2015-2016 academic year, 705 U.S. students studied abroad for academic credit in Turkey.
More and more Turkish universities are looking for partnerships with the U.S. universities and establishing ties for a faculty or student exchange programs to create an international setting at the universities. We are seeing many dual/double degree and certificate programs at Turkish universities as a result of these partnerships.
Structure of the University System
Academic year: September – June
Years of study required to earn a bachelor's degree: 4 years. However, students studying Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Sciences will need to study for five to six years to receive a degree.
The language of instruction in universities: Turkish, English, French
Degrees offered: Associate’s, Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD degrees
